Microsoft Dynamics GP – Accounts Payable

Basic Pay Rates

To begin setting up pay rates in TMWSuite, new accounts payable, payroll, and management staff must learn the concepts and terminology. In this class, you will build examples of primary, secondary, and line item pay rates using a variety of real life scenarios including mileage rates, rates based on a percentage of revenue, and fuel surcharge rates.

TotalMail – Seeing the Unseen “GeoFencing”

Lab – Executive Reports Overview Hands-On

This hands-on lab covers the key elements required to create custom reports by utilizing the Microsoft Excel based Executive Reporting module. Included in this session is an overview of the available canned Executive Reports as well as hands-on experience utilizing the TMW Generic Excel workbook. In this session, you will learn to explore the TMW data model and how to integrate your own SQL queries directly from Excel.

Introduction To Management Reports

This class is a hands-on introduction to Management Reports. This session will illustrate best practices for installation and upgrades of Management Reports, setting user access with enhanced security functions, running standard reports, and creating basic reports using the Report Wizard.

Lab – Creating Custom Documents

In this class, you will learn exciting and new ways to create your own custom documents using Microsoft Word and HTA. You will dig into VB, VBA, SQL, and HTML. No previous development experience necessary, but an adventurous spirit is a must. As part of the adventure, be prepared to explore a realm of documents, including PODs, BOLs, driver letters, trip sheets, etc.

EDI Intro – The Basics

Raising the Bar – Doing More and Doing It Better, with Less

TMWSuite – A Beginner’s Overview

“The Life of an Order, from cradle to grave”: A real HOW TO class, designed for true TMWSuite beginners. From the first notification (e.g., call, fax, or EDI) through dispatching, invoicing, and settlements, you will witness how best practices can make things easier for everyone in the organization. Learn how the “typical” optional modules most clients have (e.g., Mileage Interface, Fuel Card SmartLink, Mobile Comm, etc.) interact on a daily basis. The goal of this session is to build core application understanding and provide an insight for your organization’s future utilization of TMWSuite.
Who should attend: New TMWSuite clients, clients just starting implementation, and users new to trucking or to their organization.
Basic Settlements Processing

This is an introductory session to Settlements, designed especially for those who are just starting in TMWSuite. The class will cover the following points: setting up settlement schedules, creating settlements for company drivers and owner operators, using TMW Settlements for recurring deductions, and using built-in batch processing to streamline the settlements process.

Take a little time to get familiar with FRx. This class will cover everything in the catalog from rows and columns to reporting trees. We will have hands on exercises to enable you to build you own report by the time you leave the lab.

File Maintenance

File Maintenance is one of the cornerstones of the TMWSuite system. Entering master files in File Maintenance is a critical part of the setup process in TMWSuite. In this class, you will learn how to set up company and resource profiles to ensure optimal

Lab – Intro to Management Reports Follow-Up

Attend this session for an in-depth review of the Management Reporting application. This lab will combine an enhanced overview of the available canned reports with discussion of the key components utilized by the application. In this lab, learn how to

Load Tender Smartlink 2

Load Tender Smartlink 2, or LTSL2, is the new TMWSuite integrated solution for accepting EDI load tenders. Using the EDI tab of the Planning Worksheet in Dispatch, users can see new, updated, and cancelled load tenders; accept and decline them; and view the EDI details that generated the orders in TMWSuite. In the class, attendees will learn how to configure LTSL2 for different trading partners, see how the TMW fl at file 204 becomes a TMWSuite order, understand how to use the LTSL2 functionality within Dispatch, and witness demonstrations of LTSL2’s advanced update 204 logic. The conversion process from existing Load Tender Smartlink to LTSL2 will also be discussed.

SQL Server Administration – A list of “Must Do” Items

Your database server is not unlike a vehicle—it requires a certain amount of routine maintenance to continue to run well over time. This course provides a concise list of “Must Do” administrative items that should be taking place on ANY production SQL
Server. Concepts to be explained in detail are: database backups (what, how and when); removal of aged backups and log files; table health (fragmentation, statistics, corruption); detecting unauthorized entry attempts (hackers); observing stalled jobs
(non-failing); monitoring disk % full ratios; getting SQL Server to alert you via email when something is “wrong.”

Order Life Cycle Review and Heuristics

Stop the insanity! Many clients often ask “What is the correct ratio for support personnel to tractor count?” Because of the workflow-specific daily user tasks (e.g., phone calls, driver and client interaction, etc.), no single algorithm can be used for every operation. However, this class quantifies the amount of effort that should be expended for processing an order through its full life cycle in TMW, and reviews
ways and supporting technologies that can minimize the effort needed to process an order.

TMWSuite Settlements

This lab will cover basic procedures on paying assets in TMWSuite. You will have a hands-on opportunity to become familiar with the basic workflow of preparing pay information in the Trip Settlements Folder and finalizing the settlement in the Final Settlements Folder. Some key points that will be discussed included setting up pay
rates, computing pay automatically, creating pay details manually, and assigning pay to a pay period.
Who should attend: Payroll personnel who are new to the Settlements process, or who would like a refresher.
Microsoft Dynamics GP – Payroll

Payroll is a crucial part of your business. Well, at least your staff and drivers believe it is. This class will cover the integration between TMWSuite Settlements and Microsoft Dynamics - GP US Payroll. You will familiarize yourself with transfer options as well as the proper set up of pay types and GL Accounts. Finally, stay and explore the set up
of US Payroll and advanced features such as Deductions in Arrears and Payroll to Payables Integration.

Basic Dispatch Overview

Brokerage and Logistics with TMWSuite

This class is intended as an overview of existing and developing functionality within TMWSuite tailored to the unique needs of brokerage and 3PL environments. The session will focus on new features and functionality that have been added to TMWSuite to run brokerage operations more effectively and efficiently. Attendees will
take away a fundamental understanding of brokerage operations and process flow within TMWSuite, as well as an understanding of how TMWSuite can be configured and optimized to best fit unique brokerage needs.

Order Entry Basics

Order Import Toolkit

Do you receive a large number of orders electronically? If so, then consider using the TMWSuite Order Import Toolkit, featuring Data Exchange, to automate your processes. This scripting utility allows users to import flat files, spreadsheets, tables, and XML
files into TMWSuite to create and update orders. Data Exchange acts like a robot, accurately updating your system behind-thescenes and eliminating unnecessary data entry. In this class, you will learn about the advantages of using Data Exchange
and witness a full demonstration of its abilities. If you receive a large number of orders electronically and create orders by hand, come to this session and witness Data Exchange’s flexibility and advanced features.

Managing via Operational Metrics – KPIs & How to Use Them…

An Introduction to TotalMail Form Design

Whether you deal with customers or drivers, you still need to know how to move freight accurately and efficiently. Come learn how TMWSuite can help make that happen. This hands-on session will follow an order from conception to completion. Learn how the
customer service representative deals with an order and how a dispatcher follows through with the delivery to the customer. The session will show you how to find orders in the system, locate stop locations, and check pickup/delivery dates and times. Also, you will learn how to deal with load requirements, driver qualifications,
and asset expirations.

Exploring TMWSuite’s Data Model with Advanced SQL Queries

If your company is ready to begin mining the wealth of data contained within your TMWSuite database, or if you are already doing so but want to learn more about how to dig into your data, then this class will be well worth your while. The TMWSuite
database consists of over 400 tables containing about eight thousand columns. Some tables can reach into millions of rows. Structured Query Language, or SQL, is an advanced database tool that you can use to turn that data into gold. All of the
TMWSuite reporting tools, including Management Reports and ResultsNow, are based on SQL. This class will help you reach the next level in data analysis through instruction in both TMWSuite data structures and advanced SQL queries. We will take a brief look at a simplified data diagram, and then we will build a stored procedure that provides data for a lane analysis report.
Who should attend: This class is geared toward anyone with a technical bent, a need for information, and prior background in (at least) the basics of Structured Query Language. This class is not for the faint of heart. Are you ready for some SQL?
European Customer Roundtable

If you are used to processing one record at a time, see how easy it is to set up the system so that you can process multiple records all at once. Questions are welcome throughout.

Change Management

“Why do so many projects involving implementation of proven new technologies or processes fail to deliver their projected ROI? Most often it’s because they do not account for Change Management. Every small detail and contingency is planned for to the nth degree up until deployment. Then, little if no time or effort is expended
after the cut over, which is the most critical period for most projects to become successful. This session will review and discuss how to identify and manage this area for any project, be it a new system implementation or simply a change in procedure.
Who should attend: Any person who is planning or went through a major process change. Any person who wants to implement a new process change but isn’t sure how to get the ball rolling. This is a nontechnical class that will provide a template for successfully managing a new process or project from inception through post implementation.
Data Integrity / Validation: The Whys and Hows

Paperless Dispatch – Optimal Dispatch Procedures

Traditionally, operations staffs are reliant upon paper support tools such as dispatch sheets, spreadsheets, and manual dispatch boards to assist with the daily tracking and dispatching of their assets. Availability Options

Advanced System Configuration

When a TMWSuite user modifies various fields in the TMWSuite applications, the changes are written to the TMWSuite database; detailed records of the changes are then written to a database transaction log. This class will show you how the TMW Audit feature enables tracking and viewing of changes to your database by creating and periodically updating an audit database from a backup of the transaction log.

Lab – Fuel Suppliers Dispatch Module

Fuel Import/Fuel Export Interfaces

Tasking System

Lab – Custom Rate Design

Some clients need to calculate a variable billing rate based on multiple criteria. A new feature called User-Defined Billing and Formula Rating allows you to attach a user-defined formula to billing rates. This feature provides you with optimal flexibility when calculating billing charges as it allows you to process invoice details based on literally any data element stored in the TMWSuite database. This lab will provide examples on creating formulas directly within the rates as well as teaching you to integrate SQL stored procedures into the rate computation.
Who should attend: Anyone with the need to create a billing rate based on complicated calculations. Proficiency with Rate Schedule terminology and familiarity with the invoicing application is required. Basic understanding of the TMW database model is also recommended.
DriverZone™ – Visual Driver Planning Tool
