Dispatch Overview

This session will cover the purpose and use of the Dispatch module. Covered topics will include the method involved in the movement and tracking of freight, drivers, trucks, trailers and other resources. The importance of filters and some of the right

TruckMate Crash Course: Operations

Effective Training and The Use Case

Lab – Basic Dispatching

This session will walk you through the creation of dispatch trips, assignment of resources and movement through the system via the status update. Tracking of resources through the processing of the trip will be demonstrated at each status change. At the end of the session you will feel comfortable updating the statuses
of your freight and equipment and identifying the location every step of the way.

Who should attend: Dispatchers and dispatch managers. This class is a continuation of Dispatch Overview, offered on Monday at 10:45 a.m.


LTL Dispatch I

In this class, we will walk through an overview of LTL processes in the TruckMate environment. This class will begin with basic setup, including terminals, terminal zones, and status codes, as well as Crossdock Lanes and City Dispatch Routes and their use.

Lab – KPI/Dawg Design

This interactive, strategic planning session will see us, as a team, imagine, design, for the KPIs or for the learning experience! All KPIs built will be distributed to attendees at the conclusion of TransForum.

TruckMate SQL II

Building on concepts learned in Part I, this class will build your skills and knowledge of the TruckMate data model, with specific application to the building of KPIs, WatchDawgs, and Crystal Reports. We will also touch on the use of SQL to perform general maintenance tasks.

Who should attend: Systems administrators, report like to get more information out of TruckMate. This class is a continuation of TruckMate SQL I, offered on Monday at 10:45.


TruckMate Accounting II

This session is intended for the Intermediate to Advanced user of the accounting modules of the TruckMate for Windows product. The material presented in this class will be a continuation from the Accounting I session. Topics will include: posting source register to the G/L, recurring journal entries, foreign exchange GL setup,
foreign exchange calculation (daily and month end), balancing of control accounts and financial statement creation.

Who should attend: Accounting managers, controllers and CFO’s. This class is a continuation of TruckMate Accounting I, offered on Monday at 1:45 p.m. We suggest that you also attend the hands-on Accounting Lab on Tuesday at 9:00 a.m.



Exception Monitoring and Reporting Operations

This session will focus on the many tools that exist to monitor exceptions within TruckMate, with an emphasis on operations. We will explore how tools such as filtering, grid formatting, Command Center, The DAWG, and Crystal Reports can be used to highlight exceptions. Live presentations showing various scenarios will
be demonstrated.

Who should attend: Dispatch supervisors and terminal managers


LTL Dispatch II
DAY / TIME: Monday – 3:45 p.m.
LEVEL: Advanced

Building on the fundamentals presented in LTL Dispatch I, this class will delve deeper into TruckMate LTL functionality. City Dispatch, Crossdock, and Line-haul dispatch will be presented, along with typical scenarios such as missed pickups, refused  deliveries, missing pickup information, and lane filtering. There will be a demonstration of the Service Level Matrix, mapping features, and a discussion on other LTL technologies such as hand-held dock devices, D2Link mobile communications, and bar-coding. 8.0. In addition, upcoming 8.1 LTL enhancements will be discussed.

Back-Office Efficiency Through EDI

Electronic Data Interchange is a powerful and often essential part of your customer relationships. This session will provide an overview of the EDI format and document types used in TruckMate. We will demonstrate how to minimize data entry (204), send paperless invoices (210), and give customers real time status updates (214) in an effort to create back-offi ce effi ciencies. We will also touch on brand new features in TruckMate EDI, including electronic cash receipts (820) and support for Windows Services.

Who should attend: IT professionals and operations managers interested in adopting EDI internally for the first time.


Lab – Accounting

DB2 System Maintenance I

Today’s business environment requires a data server to react immediately to ensure availability, optimal performance and reliability. In this session, you will receive an overview of DB2’s robust abilities, beginning with an introduction to DB2 and the Windows environment, DB2 9 Server Architecture, instances and schemas. You will learn how to analyze database activity through DB2 Control Center, automate your maintenance tasks, perform data backups and recovery, and perform basic troubleshooting.

Dispatch Resource & Trip Planning

This session will introduce some of the powerful load and resource planning features available in TruckMate. Mobile Communications Interfaces

Measuring Your Profitability

How do you measure the profitability of your company? Certainly financial statements are the most common form, but how do we get these results weekly, daily, or even in real time? Strategies for Recruiting and Retaining Drivers

Intermodal II

TruckMate Intermodal is one of TruckMate’s most rapidly evolving modules in recent years. Come see the latest major upgrade to the Intermodal module. This class will give you a detailed overview and demonstration of new features.

Who should attend: TruckMate Intermodal users, or users with an interest in TruckMate Intermodal. This class is a continuation of Intermodal I, offered on Tuesday at 1:45 p.m. We suggest that you also attend the Intermodal Lab on Wednesday at 9:00 a.m.


Lab – Reporting

Struggling to put the finishing touches on your own custom report? Not sure where to find the data you’re looking for? This hands-on session will give you an opportunity to ask questions from reporting experts, as well as put into practice the lessons learned
in the Report Writing classes. This hands-on class is a continuation of Report Writing III, offered on Tuesday at 1:45 p.m.

Who should attend: TruckMate users with basic reporting experience or who have attended the Report Writing classes.


Key Performance Indicators Roundtable

This valuable TruckMate session will feature some of our most proficient Command Center users; focusing on how each of them uses Command Center and the The Dawg to run their company. We will have the opportunity to ask questions of this esteemed group about the key numbers they manage, how they rolled out
Command Center to the rest of their company, how they dealt with non-conforming employees, and many other areas of interest. This interactive panel will be hosted by Bob Maddocks.

Who should attend: Management.


TruckMate Interfaces

TruckMate is part of a large and growing ecosystem of service providers that integrate to your advantage. This session will give a basic, high-level review of the third-party interfaces available to you in TruckMate, and their ability to increase your business’ effi ciency and profitability. Integration product areas that will be discussed include mobile communications, imaging, asset management/maintenance, optimization, acounting, rating, fuel cards, mileage, mapping, EDI and more.

Who should attend: IT personnel and management.



TruckMate Consolidated Billing

This session will examine the various options TruckMate provides for billing your customers, and the advantages and disadvantages of each. We will give particular focus to the setup and use of TruckMate’s billing consolidation module: selecting bills for consolidation, how to rate them and how to process a master bill.

Who should attend: Accounting and billing personnel. We suggest that you also attend Billing and Rating I on Tuesday at 9:00 a.m.


DB2 System Performance Monitoring

Performance is a vital key to the success of on-demand applications. To improve database performance, you must first identify where performance is suffering and have some idea what to do to improve it. In this session you will learn how to use the performance monitoring tools in DB2 for Linux, Unix, and Windows to identify and solve potential problem areas before they affect your business.

Who should attend: Advanced session for database/system administrators. We suggest that you also attend DB2 System Maintenance II, offered on Tuesday at 10:45 a.m.


Driver Pay Overview
DAY / TIME: Wednesday – 9:00 a.m.

This session will cover the basic setup of TruckMate driver pay. It will explore basic driver pay contracts, driver deductions, different types of contract rules, the review and approval of pay, and statement and check printing.

Who should attend: Driver pay processors, accounting managers, human resources personnel, dispatch personnel.


Effective Carrier Management

What is your liability for outsourced loads? What constitutes “due diligence” in the selection of a carrier? This class will examine many of the liability issues associated with outsourced freight and present some tools to help monitor carrier safety ratings, operating authority and insurance compliance. We will also demonstrate the system
tools used to help facilitate carrier monitoring and communication in TruckMate.

Come walk through the basics of TruckMate Intermodal in this hands-on TruckMate lab. You will set up TruckMate for Intermodal shipping, enter a freight bill, and then dispatch it through to completion. You will also set up automatic rating and driver pay
with a focus on the options tailored to Intermodal operations.

Who should attend: Beginning Intermodal dispatchers, billers or back office staff. This hands-on class is a continuation of Intermodal II, offered on Tuesday at 3:45 p.m.


TM4Web Overview
DAY / TIME: Wednesday – 9:00 a.m.
LEVEL: Intermediate

TM4Web is a powerful tool for enhancing your customer service offerings and alleviating the workload of your customer service staff. Empower your users to submit their own pickup requests and track their shipments without your intervention. This session will give the user and system administrator a comprehensive overview of the
TM4Web module, including basic installation and setup, along with tips and traps. We will also briefly touch on carrier management tools, and new enhancements to TM4Web. A functional overview of a working system will be provided.

Who should attend: Operations management and IT personnel.


Lab - Mobile Communications Macro Design

Practice the techniques you learned in the Macro Writing class with the aid of a mobile communications expert in this interactive, hands-on session. Walkthrough exercises will be provided, but your own communication scenarios are welcomed, too.
